In a fascinating conversation with Chris Jones, writer Dylanne shares her remarkable journey from aspiring screenwriter to having her work featured on Netflix. Her story begins with an unlikely twist – while sick in bed with flu, a friend’s chance encounter with a producer’s chauffeur led to her first major screenwriting opportunity. This serendipitous moment resulted in her writing “Father Christmas is Back,” a film featuring an impressive cast including Elizabeth Hurley, John Cleese, and Kelsey Grammar.

Mark Renshaw’s creative journey is a testament to what can happen when you grab opportunities with both hands and run with them. After attending the Talent Campus – which he describes as a “creative boot camp” and “spiritual journey” – Mark’s career took off in ways he couldn’t have imagined, even with a pandemic throwing a wrench in the works.

Vera’s path through filmmaking started with two short films that really showcase her growth as a creative. Her first project, “Psyche,” came from the Create50 challenge and taught her a pretty tough but important lesson about letting go. When a young German director adapted her work, she had to learn to be cool with someone else’s interpretation of her vision. Talk about a character-building experience! But then came “Blue Widow,” where she stepped up to the director’s chair herself, finally getting to call the shots (literally and figuratively).

One of the most compelling aspects of James’ journey is his evolution from a struggling screenwriter to a confident filmmaker. He’s learned to bring his own scripts to life, oftentimes leading more than just the script. James’ success with his short films, particularly his 52-second silent comedy with international acclaim, demonstrates the influence that Talent Campus had on both him and his career.
